Professional Indemnity Insurance for Foresters

 

 

Affinity Insurance provide a specific Professional Indemnity Policy for Foresters with a minimum Limit of Liability of €500,000. What is professional indemnity insurance?


If you, in the course of your work of advising clients, make a mistake or do / fail to do something that could cause financial loss to another person then you need Professional Indemnity Insurance. Professional Indemnity Insurance covers you for the legal costs in defending actions brought against you and the costs of the award associated with the action. Professional indemnity policiesprovide cover on a 'claims made' basis. What does 'claims made' mean?

 

This means that provided the claim is made during the period of insurance, it does not matter when the negligent act occurred. What is a retroactive date?

 

Insurers will often include a retroactive date on the policy. Any claims which arise as a result of negligent acts occurring prior to the retroactive date, are not covered. The retroactive date is normally the date at which the business obtained its first professional indemnity policy.
