What to do in the event of a claim
Action Required:
Property
- Do whatever is necessary to prevent further damage from occurring.
- Report all incidents - failure to report an incident that gives rise to a claim could prejudice both you and/or your insurers rights of recovery.
- Call Or e-mail Affinity (see incident report form - PDF, 15kb) to request a claim form and advise the following information to ascertain if a Loss Adjuster needs to be appointed:
- Date Damage Occurred:
- What Happened.
- Advise Estimate for repair/replacement.
Liability
- If person is injured, call for medical help.
- Report all incidents - failure to report an incident that gives rise to a claim could prejudice both you and/or your insurers rights of recovery.
- Contact Affinity Insurance Brokers (See incident report form) to report the incident?
- Gather statements from all witnesses present?
- Take photos of the accident location?
- Bear in mind for example, in the case of a faulty piece of equipment or fault with design of location that a third party (or any person who supplies a product or service) could indeed be brought into the equation, contact details should be forwarded to your broker with the accident report form.
